Our Team
Kimberly Bergstrom (she/her) – Executive Director
After 17 years of working in advertising and marketing, Kimberly decided to move to the nonprofit realm. She was fortunate to apply her corporate sales and development skills to work at Special Olympics Oregon as the Chief Development Officer. There she experienced firsthand the power of sport as a vehicle for inclusion, equity, and acceptance, and she fell in love with supporting mission work.
Kimberly has been the Executive Director of Active Children Portland for over six years. She is dedicated to expanding reach and programmatic improvements, including getting more girls, gender-expansive, and non-binary youth sports, reducing inequities in education and wellness for under-served populations, supporting fun in learning and fitness, and improving access to healthy, locally-sourced foods. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking and paddleboarding, sewing, woodblock carving, and spending time with her rescue dog, Sneak.
